Composition is a particularly tricky aspect of landscape photography, especially since you have no control over the placement of the elements in the scene. If composition is something you struggle with, check out this awesome video tutorial that features an experienced landscape photographer offering some great advice sure to help you improve your photos.
Coming to you from Andrew Marr, this excellent video tutorial offers some helpful composition advice and tackles a difficult skill that will help you improve your landscape images. If you struggle with balancing all the elements in the frame, do not overlook bringing along a longer lens, such as an 70-200mm. While wide angle lenses are generally the default choice for landscape work, longer focal lengths can help you to simplify a complex frame simply by excluding some of the elements, plus they will help you create more images out of a scene. On top of that, you’ll likely be able to create more unique images simply because our eyes are more accustomed to wide angle landscape shots. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Marr.
