Nikon has kicked it into high gear with the likes of the Z 9 and NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S, keeping the pressure on Sony and Canon to continue innovating and pushing the envelope. This great video features two photographers testing out the latest from Nikon and discussing how it compares to some of their best DSLR cameras and lenses.
Coming to you from Chris Thomas and Matt Irwin Photography, this excellent video takes a look at the new Nikon NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S lens when paired with the Z 9 and how it compares to older options like the D5 and AF-S NIKKOR 400mm f/2.8G ED VR. Perhaps one of the neatest advantages of the newer lens is the built-in teleconverter, which allows it to instantly convert to a 560mm f/4 lens. Not only is this convenient, particularly in fast-paced environments where a lens change might not be possible, built-in teleconverters are optically matched to their respective lenses and usually provide better image quality than a standard detachable teleconverter would. It is a pretty impressive combo and shows Nikon intends to seriously compete at the highest levels of the professional mirrorless market. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Thomas and Irwin.
