Apple’s Mac Studio is ludicrously powerful. It comes in two basic configurations, the M1 Max and M1 Ultra, which might leave you wondering which you should pick for your work. If you are asking yourself that question, check out this excellent video that discusses three options for video editing to help you choose.
Coming to you from Matt WhoisMatt Johnson, this great video will help you choose the right Mac desktop for your video editing work. The Mac Studio offers two processor options, the M1 Max or the M1 Ultra, which is essentially two M1 Max chips together. In my review of the Mac Studio, I took a look at the M1 Ultra version, and simply put, no matter what contrived test I could throw at it to try to make it stumble, it performed flawlessly. Mel Martin took a look at the M1 Max version in his review, and he was similarly impressed. There is an argument to be made for adding a bit more futureproofing by going for the M1 Ultra version, but the M1 Max is so competent that I have a hard time believing it will struggle with anything for quite a while. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Johnson.
